Some of Zahra’s Activities

Bismilahi Rahmaani Raheem

Assalaamu alaikum

Zahra’s activities always used to be ways to keep her occupied while I am busy with Imaan. She is three so I never really considered it necessary to “teach” her but she is showing more and more inclination to do what Imaan is doing πŸ™‚ She has mastered most of the activities I used to put out for her…she knows all her letter and numbers and cutting sorting puzzles are all old hat to her so I will need to search for more activities for her. Time! I wish I had more time! May Allah place more Barakah in our time, ameen.

Here are a few snaps of what Zahra does. Most of these activities are on the shelves in the school room. She may ask for an activity but usually I suggest something to her while I am trying to do more quiet work with Imaan. Most of the activities are self correcting, independent work, but very often she still wants me to sit with her and watch/praise her πŸ™‚

If you have any questions on how to make any of the materials you see then let me know and I will write more insha Allah.

  1. as salaamu `alaykum…

Ma shaa Allah, she is only 3 and already such a good learner. What a blessing it is indeed when children love learning so much.

OH MY! We have the same Chinese soup bowls πŸ˜› teehee!

  2. Wa alaikum salaam

Its mainly because Imaan is “busy” she also wants to be “busy” although, I noticed Zahra to be more of a kinesthetic learner, aka “miss flighty” so a few Montessori inspired activities attract her more.

    As Salaamu Alaiki!

Nice! Mashaa’ Allaah you have really nice activities for your little one. How many of these are DIY and I hope you write a post soon on some DIY activities. Baraka’Allaahu’Feekum

  4. Wa alaikm salaam Umm Suhaila πŸ™‚

I made most of it, the Montessori elements like the pouring, sponing and tonging were put together using things from around the house and just made available to her on the shelves, the weaving/threading mat was from an old toy I re-purposed. I made the blocks with velcro and I made the numeracy box with the craft sticks πŸ™‚ Alhamdulillah there are so many ideas out there to make but by making it you save money but not time! So it is a trade off you make LOL πŸ™‚ you need to decide which is more valuable πŸ™‚

Insha Allah I hope to be making some more materials as I finally bought my hot glue gun! Alhamdulillah!

    • Bismillaah

      As Salaamu Alaiki

You should do some DIY’s ! I love the numeracy box- I got some ideas for remixing that lol. I will post soon- I made a early literacy box πŸ˜‰ thanks to this post.

Now I’m on pinetrest lol looking at DIY Montessori activities

Na’am it takes time! But I rather do the time then the money hehe

You got a hot glue gun! I wanted one………..been thinking………………but then I thought what projects will I use it on?

      • Wa alaikum salaam ukhti πŸ™‚

Alhamdulillah I am back online my laptop sorted yippee!!
I am sooo happy you got some benefit out of it masha Allah! It is so adaptable and the amount of things you can do with craft sticks!! I am happily reveling in my stash LOL!

I am so excited about my glue gun, for art projects and craft things it is great as it dries instantly I will share once I get something going insha Allah. I think it is totally worth it as the returns are worth the R80 investment insha Allah. I think that would make it about $10 your side?

Pintrest is great for ideas I love it! You must let me know your username then I can follow your boards insha Allah.
